Description

Proficiency test: Zearalenone in two contaminated maize oil samples.

The European Union Reference Laboratory for Mycotoxins organises a proficiency test on the determination of zearalenone in maize oil.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the measurement capabilities of European National Reference Laboratories (NRLs) and Official Food Control Laboratories (OCLs) for this target analyte.

Test material and analytes
The test material is contaminated maize oil. Participants will receive two samples contaminated at two different levels, each containing about 40 g of the material. The results will have to be reported corrected for recovery and have to be accompanied by the respective measurement uncertainty. Further details will be communicated to participants at a later stage.

Performance assessment
The performance of the participants will be rated by z-scores and zeta-scores.

Registration
Participation in EURL PTs is for official control laboratories only in line with Regulation 882/2004. Therefore only NRLs for Mycotoxins and OCLs (indicated by their NRL) may participate.

Reporting of results: 1 July 2014
Reporting to participants: December 2014
Sample dispatch: End of May 2014
Year: 2014-01-01 00:00:00
