Description

Determination of deoxynivalenol (DON) in wheat

The European Union Reference Laboratory for Mycotoxins organises a proficiency test on the determination of deoxynivalenol (DON) in wheat.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the proficiency of the European National Reference Laboratories and Official Control Laboratories in the determination of DON.

Only NRLs for Mycotoxins and OCLs appointed by NRLs can participate in the study.

Participation is mandatory and free of charge for NRLs for Mycotoxins.

The participation fee is 270 EUR for OCLs, which do not have NRL status.

Test material and analytes

The test materials are naturally contaminated wheat samples. Participants will receive 4 samples. Laboratories are encouraged to use screening methods according to Commission Regulation (EU) No 519/2014. Classification of the materials as “compliant” or “non-compliant” is mandatory assuming the material falls into category 2.4.1 of the Annex in Commission Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006 (1250 µg/kg DON). In addition they will be asked to provide quantitative results.

Further details will be communicated to the participants at a later stage.

Registration

NRLs for Mycotoxins and OCLs appointed by NRLs are welcome to participate in the study. The planned deadlines are given below.
