Biography
Marco Montanari is an economist in the Future of Work and Education team in JRC-Brussels.
He has been working in the European Commission since 2009, first as Economic Analyst in the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs and subsequently as Policy Analyst in the Directorate-General for Education, Youth, Sports and Culture. He joined the JRC in June 2020.
Before moving to the European Commission, he worked as a temporary researcher and lecturer at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Italy) in the areas of international economics and European integration.
Marco holds a Msc in European Studies from the London School of Economics (2003) and a PhD in Economics from the University of Bologna (2007).
His research interests focus on the economic analysis of education policies, in particular in the areas of quality, inclusiveness and investment.
