Biography
Małgorzata (Gosia) Jakimów is the Political Scientist of the JRC – Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS) project “bounCE4ward”. The project analyses the circularity status quo and future potential in different EU value chains, to propose solutions (i.e., scenarios, policy options) to mitigate the risk of supply disruptions and reduce carbon emissions.
Gosia Jakimów holds a PhD in Politics from University of Manchester, UK. She has over 10 years of academic experience, having previously worked as Associate Professor in East Asian Politics at Durham University, and Lecturer in Chinese Studies at University of Sheffield, alongside a Visiting Scholar posts she held at the School of Government, Peking University in 2014-15 and at University of Łódź in 2022. Apart from the question of derisking, decarbonisation and political economy in EU-China relations, her research interests include domestic and international politics of China, East Asian international relations, political economy of labour, and the normative aspect of EU-China relations, including China's BRI engagement in Central Eastern Europe and the role of populism in EU-China relations.
