Luca Giustolisi

Biography

Luca is a software engineer, full stack developer and senior analyst (consultant). He is responsible for implementing and designing IT systems created for the management of emergencies related to atmospheric agents. He holds the role of developer and designer of IT systems within the European Crisis Management Laboratory (ECML) team.

He began his experience with the JRC in 2018 and since then he has been involved in the development, analysis requirements, data management, frontend and backend design for the GDACS (Global Disaster Alerting and Coordination System). He manages the scheduled procedures for calculating data models for natural disasters and their safety He also contributed to the management of webcam data streaming.

He is currently developing the new user interface of the Global Disaster and Alert Coordination System (GDACS) website project, managing its design and interaction by applying the most modern and recent development and design technologies based on the Angular framework.

Professional achievements 

Luca has been involved in the design and management of IT systems for more than 10 years. He joined the “Confartigianato Imprese” as a developer, working on the implementation of multiplatform software applications in C # language, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, LINQ, Entity Framework and Entity Core with the use of the Microsoft Visual Studio Enterprises for management and administration.

Academic background

Luca holds a 1st Level Computer Science (Digital Communication) degree (2008). His thesis focused on “Three-dimensional design and virtual reality, tools and techniques in the creation of surgery operator blocks”. He is Microsoft Certified since 2022 as an Azure Developer Associate.
