The website will show the level of uptake of five categories of key standards at EU and national level, and provide analysis of the progress.© NicoElNino - stock.adobe.com 2022 The EU’s Internet Standards Deployment Monitoring website features the set of internet standards that are considered to be key to supporting a free, open and global internet, and which contribute to securing internet communications and support the evolution and resilience of the Internet. This set includes: web communication standards (HTTPS, HTTP/3 and HSTS) the Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) email communications security standards (STARTTLS, SPF, DKIM, DMARC and DANE) Domain Name System Security Extensions standards (DNSSEC) the latest version of the Internet’s communication protocol, Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). The website provides dashboards with indicators measuring the level of uptake of these standards at EU and national level and an analysis of the progress. The website data comes from a series of detailed JRC technical reports, included on the website, that will be updated biannually. The website, built by the Commission’s Directorate‑General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology and the JRC, was envisaged by the EU strategy on standardisation. This strategy aims to strengthen the EU's global competitiveness, to enable a resilient, green and digital economy and to enshrine democratic values in technology applications. The monitoring website also supports the EU Cybersecurity strategy for the digital decade, which sets the path to build resilience to cyber threats, and ensure citizens and businesses benefit from trustworthy digital technologies.
