The Self-Assessment Tool for Territorial and Local Development strategies (SAT4TER) is a user-friendly, free and anonymous tool for local and managing authorities, as well as other local actors, that are responsible for building or updating integrated territorial development strategies in non-urban areas. Such strategies are the ones under Policy Objective 5, specific objectives 2 - as specified in Article 3, paragraph (e) of the Regulation on the European Regional Development Fund and on the Cohesion Fund - and precisely, Integrated Territorial Investment (ITI) strategies or Community Led Local Development (CLLD) strategies and other types of strategies using a mix of territorial tools in non-urban settings. The tool makes self-assessment easier for local actors and helps them identity strengths and opportunities for improving their development strategies. During the launch event, an overview of the policy context and scientific rationale of the tool was followed by a live demo and interactive Q&A session. Guest speakers from local authorities that have tested the tool in a pilot phase offered their perspectives about its applicability in every stage of design and delivery of integrated territorial strategies.
