Description

The workshop aims at providing a comprehensive overview about the research on the dynamical aspects of nuclear fission and their consequences on fission fragment properties. It promotes the exchange between theoreticians and experimentalists on future data needs for basic research and applications. Contributions should highlight advancement of nuclear fission theory, with a focus on prompt neutron and gamma ray emission and state-of-the-art experiment techniques. It is the fifth workshop of a series initiated in 2010 (Sinaia, Romania) and continued in 2012 (Biarritz, France), 2014 (Opatija, Croatia) and 2017 (Varna, Bulgaria).
Theory-5 is co-organized by JRC-Geel (Belgium) and NIPNE, Bucharest (Romania). The workshop is supported by the JRC-GEEL and hosted at the “Renaissance Tuscany”. Please, find here the leaflet and the poster.
In order to enhance the workshops’ potential for efficient networking, experts are invited to attend and participation of postdoctoral fellows and PhD students, who wish to present their work, is highly encouraged.

Travel recommendations
We recommend travelling to Pisa International Airport (Galileo Galilei). If another airport is chosen we advise to take a train to Lucca (Milano Malpensa Airport – Lucca, every 30 min, 2 connections, 4h20 travel; Firenze – Lucca, every 60 min, direct, 1h20 travel; Roma – Lucca, every 60 min, 1 connection, 3h10 travel. Note that in the case of Firenze and Roma also a transfer from the airport to the train station must also be taken into account). We will arrange a shuttle service between the hotel in Castelvecchio Pascoli and Pisa Airport as well as Lucca station.
