UPDATE 4 MARCH 2020: The FAS workshop 2020, originally planned for 17-18 March 2020, is postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.

*****
The JRC, in collaboration with DG AGRI and the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture, organises the Farm Advisory System (FAS) Workshop 2020.
The objective of the workshop is to have open and constructive exchanges about the current implementation of the Farm Advisory System in the Member States.
Farm advice should play an important role in the next CAP after 2020 and it is interesting to take stock of the situation after the evolution of the FAS since 2007 and before the implementation of the reform.
Date and venue
The workshop will be held on 17 and 18 March 2020 at the Hungarian Ministry of Agricultural premises in Apáczai Csere János street 9, 1052 Budapest (Hungary).
Agenda
On the morning of 17 March 2020 there will be a plenary session with presentations by delegates from the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture, European Commission, Member States and FAS experts.
In the afternoon, small group discussion tables will give all participants the opportunity to share their experience on specific FAS implementation themes. A list of topics and questions will be sent to registered participants before the workshop so that participants can be prepared.
The second day (18 March 2020) will be dedicated to a field trip.
The language in the workshop will be English.
If you would like to share your experience with a presentation or if you have specific topics to propose for the discussion, please do not hesitate to contact:
Registration
Registration is now open. Please register for the workshop here:
Deadline for registration: 5 March 2020.
Please note that places are limited to 80. We reserve two places for each Member State until 21 February 2020. After that date, places will be assigned on a 'first come, first served' basis. Registration will be automatically closed as soon as the number of 80 participants is reached.
Participants’ expenses, such as travel and accommodation costs, are NOT reimbursed by the European Commission.
Other information
Participants shall choose and book their accommodation.
The workshop venue is located in the centre of Budapest and at the moment (January 2020) there are plenty of options as to where to stay. However, we recommend that you book your accommodation quite early because hotels in Budapest can become fully booked quite quickly in springtime.
