Description
An initiative of the European Commission since 1980, the European Biomass Conference and Exhibition (EUBCE) is a world-leading event for biomass research, technology development and innovative applications.
EUBCE covers topics ranging from biomass production to conversion technologies for heating, electricity, fuels, chemicals and materials, as well as policies, markets and sustainability and industrial applications, providing a platform for interaction and knowledge exchange between researchers, industry and policy makers.
In 2019, more than 1700 participants from about 80 countries attended the conference to discuss the latest opportunities and challenges, scientific findings and technology advancement.
The Joint Research Centre supports the conference by providing the scientific programme coordination and steering strategy direction to address the latest challenges, developments and trends for biomass, bioenergy and bioeconomy.
EUBCE 2020 Programme and Topics
Responding to suggestions from the scientific community, the EUBCE 2020 programme addresses all different themes of the biomass sector, with an updated and refined programme structure and topics.
The 28th EUBCE will expand its scope, from biomass resources and conversion to bioenergy and intermediate bioenergy carriers to integrate the bioeconomy into its conference programme.
In particular, this 2020 edition will focus on biomass in the emerging bioeconomy, explore the role of agriculture in bioenergy production for energy and bioeconomy transition and seek to improve citizen awareness and engagement in support of biomass technologies.
