DepartmentJoint Research Centre Biography Elisa is a cartographic and scientific analyst and earth observation specialist for the preparedness of the European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ECHO), Emergency Response Coordination Centre (ERCC) to global natural disasters. She produces daily maps and reports, monitoring emergencies on natural events: severe weather, floods, landslides, earthquakes, tsunamis, tropical cyclones, volcanoes and wildfires. Areas of expertise GIS Remote Sensing Cartography Hydrology Professional achievements After more than eight years of academic experience in hydrology and geology in University of Padova and National Research Council in Italy, and more than six years of working experience cartography, and remote sensing in a private company in Switzerland, she started her experience at JRC in June 2023. Academic background Elisa got her PhD in Hydrology in the program ‘Land, Environment, Resources and Health’, M.Sc. in Geology and Technical Geology, B.Sc. in Geoscience. She produced more than 15 publications in peer reviewed papers and presented in several national and international conferences.
