Biography

Tobias Haepp works with different policy Directorates-General (DGs) providing advice on counterfactual impact evaluations in the fields of labour, education and development economics to improve evidence-based policymaking in the European Commission.

Prior to joining the European Commission, he was a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) of the German Federal Employment Agency. He also worked as a researcher at Peking University (PKU), Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER) as well as for the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the Worldbank.

He earned his PhD with a dissertation on the effects of wage policies in East Asian countries at National Taiwan University (NTU), obtained an MSc in Development Economics at the University of London (SOAS) and completed his BSc studies in International Economic Studies at Maastricht University and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
