Nicholas Joseph Lazarou

Nicholas-Joseph Lazarou is an Economic Analyst for the JRC B.7. Unit Knowledge for Finance, Innovation and Growth. He works on the RHOMOLO model and the regional and macroeconomic Impact of policies.

Biography

Nicholas-Joseph Lazarou joined the JRC in 2021 as an Economic Analyst. He works together with the TEDAM team on the regional and macroeconomic impact of reforms through the use and expansion of the RHOMOLO model.

He holds a PhD in Economics and an MSc in Economics and Finance from the University of Southampton. Prior to joining the JRC, Nicholas worked as an Economist at the Council of Economic Advisors at the Ministry of Finance of the Hellenic Republic on issues related to the European Semester and the Economic Policy Committee of the European Council.

He has held other posts such as Consultant for the World Bank, Research Associate at the University College London Energy Institute and Dartmouth College and Teaching Fellow at the University of Southampton.

He specialises in International Economics and Trade and Economic Development with a particular focus on modelling and measuring the impact of transport costs on international trade.
