Before that he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Modelling and Scientific Computing (MOX) Laboratory of the Department of Mathematics of Politecnico di Milano, where he worked at an early warning system for geo-hazards using advanced spatial statistics and forecasting methods.

He holds a Ph.D in Management Engineering from Politecnico di Milano. During that period he used novel statistical techniques to model energy consumption and perform impact assessment of demand response measures, as well as performing sensitivity analysis and emulation for Integrated Assessment Models in the context of climate change economic modelling and simulation.

His main theoretical interests lie in the field of Functional and Object Oriented Data Analysis, with a specific focus on non-parametric inference and Conformal prediction for functional and complex objects.
