The JRC headquarters are situated in Brussels, in Belgium, and host the office of director-general, who is responsible for the overall scientific, technical and financial management of the JRC.
The JRC headquarters also accommodate the office of the directorate responsible for setting the strategy, and for planning and coordinating the activities of the centre. The activities carried on in the headquarters include planning resources, setting up the work programme, supporting the implementation of the Euratom Treaty as well as inter-institutional and outreach activities, and international affairs.
In the Brussels site can also be found the directorate responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective deployment of personnel and for securing financial and technical resources, necessary to support the JRC's activities. Elements of this directorate are also situated over all the 5 other JRC sites.
