Six new vacancies for scientists at JRC in Petten (the Netherlands)

We have six new vacancies in the field of clean energy research in the Knowledge for the Energy Union unit of the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) in Petten, The Netherlands.

The European Union has committed itself to achieving climate neutrality by 2050. This ambitious but crucial goal cannot be achieved without an objective analysis of where we are now, a thorough understanding of the challenges ahead, and a pioneering approach to the way we develop and adopt new clean energy technologies and other climate change mitigation solutions. In the JRC’s Knowledge for the Energy Union unit, we support policymakers with unbiased scientific evidence and analysis in all these areas.

Our team of 50 researchers works closely with policymakers and other research teams across the JRC, the Commission and beyond to support the development of science-based policy options to address important issues faced by the European Union, such as climate change, the sustainability of our energy system and the competitiveness of our industry.

Through our work, we play a central role in supporting the European Green Deal by providing the science for the development, implementation and evaluation of policies to support the clean energy transition.

We are currently offering six vacancies in the specialist areas of global clean energy innovation, innovative low carbon technologies in heating and cooling markets, ocean energy, scenarios for the evolution of our energy system and the materials needed for the manufacturing of clean energy technologies.
