Jonathan Pycroft

Biography

Dr Jonathan Pycroft is a computational economist in the Fiscal Policy Analysis team in JRC-Seville. He applies data science techniques to the investigation of tax policy. His main focus is corporate tax policy, especially as a core developer of the CORTAX macroeconomic model. Within fiscal policy, he was a creator of both the EDGE-M3 macroeconomic model and the Euromod-JRC Interface for microsimulation analysis.

Previously at JRC, he worked on climate change economics, modelling the economic impacts of sea-level rise and the emissions trading scheme. Prior to this, his work focused on African economies spending time based in Lesotho, Ethiopia and Zambia, working in the areas of foreign aid, international trade, agriculture, and tax policy. He holds economics degrees from the Universities of Sussex (DPhil), Oxford (MSc) and Warwick (BSc).
