Overview

Europe needs effective public health policies to meet challenges such as equitable access to healthy environments and healthcare with an all-of-society approach. 

The JRC collaborates with regional, national and local stakeholders to investigate important factors impacting health and monitor emerging public health threats, such as food fraud. It develops strategies to address cancer, rare diseases, and healthy ageing through healthier diets and lifestyles. JRC's role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and quality of food and feed within the European Union.
