Biography
Valerio is a cartographic and scientific analyst. He is a a geologist GIS analyst who has been working in the European Crisis Management Laboratory team since December 2018. He’s in charge of the daily situational awareness activities, producing daily maps and rapid maps and editing daily flash reports for European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations (ERCC).

Professional experience and achievements
Valerio worked as a freelance for different employers, in particular for the United Nations as GIS analyst, cartographer and geologist. In 2014-2016 he worked at Roma TRE University and took part in different projects:
• Method for Landslide Susceptibility and Risk assessment in Monterosso and Vernazza sector, by using ArcGis10.3
• Semi-automatic models, carried out using the Model Builder of ArcGIS, for landslide susceptibility evaluation in the Italian territory
• Semantic Geological map harmonization, Roma 3 and ISPRA collaboration for LIFE+IMAGINE Project
• 3D Modelling of Melka Kunture at the Awash Basin by using ArcScene
• 3D Laser scanning activities.
Academic background
Valerio holds a 2nd level University Master's degree: "GIS Strategies". The tile of his final thesis (2016) is "Landslide Susceptibility GIS Modelling". Before that, he gained a Master Science Degree in ‘’Geology’’ in 2011.
