Biography
Toon Vandyck contributes to research on the economics of climate change, energy and the environment at the JRC in Sevilla. In particular, he is responsible for the economic modeling of environmental, energy, climate and fiscal policies with the JRC-GEM-E3 model.
He holds a PhD degree in economics from the University of Leuven (KULeuven). His dissertation analyses the economic impact of energy taxes and congestion pricing in a fiscal federalism context. He has published academic work in top journals as Nature Climate Change, and his assessments have supported the EU Green Deal and the international climate policy dialogue that led to the Paris Agreement.
