Elena Stepanova

Elena Stepanova is a Socio-Economic Analyst at the Survey Methods and Analysis Centre of the Joint Research Centre

Biography

Elena obtained her research Master's degrees in applied mathematics from Université Paris I Sorbonne and in economics from Ca' Foscari University. She obtained her PhD in economics from the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies, where she also worked as a post-doctoral researcher on topics related to cultural economics. 

She has extensive experience with household consumption budget surveys, and worked as a consultant for the United Nations Industrial Development Organization to conduct analysis on this topic. 

Elena has also project management experience in the private sector, gained while working as a business analyst at Société Générale and JPMorgan. 

Her research has been published in Cultural Economics, Journal of Economic Behaviour & Organization, European Journal of Political economy, Physica-A, Empirical Economics and others.
