About
The Community aims to foster an informed dialogue and knowledge sharing on the multidimensional aspects of fairness thereby bridging the gap between academics and policy makers; identify synergies and areas of collaboration together with policy Directorate-Generals; and generate new knowledge and anticipate trends. The Community regularly provides a discussion platform for exchange between stakeholders and representatives from civil society and academia.
A series of ONLINE WORKSHOPS on FAIRNESS
Organised by the JRC Monitoring, Indicators and Impact Evaluation Unit
The JRC flagship report Beyond averages - fairness in an economy that works for people in early 2020 showed that before the crisis, 38% of Europeans believed that they were not treated fairly and 41% did not agree that they had qual opportunities in life. There are now growing fears that the ongoing COVID-19 crisis will widen the gaps between different groups, with a risk that this will exacerbate the sense of unfairness in our societies. The Fairness Community of Practice will continue its series of events to foster and deepen the dialogue between policymakers and academic researchers on topics related to fairness that are becoming increasingly relevant. The events will be organised online.
