Scientific support to cultural and creative industries - Some JRC examples

The JRC and cultural and creative industries may not be obvious partners, but science does have a key role to play in this sector, in particular in ensuring its continued growth and success. As the in-house science service of the European Commission, the JRC provides scientific support to policy. With its multidisciplinary approach, the JRC’s work in areas like ICT, standardisation, socio-economics, and impact assessment can enable policy-makers at local, regional, national and European level to make the informed decisions needed to exploit the enormous potential for growth and jobs in this area.
