Determination of Alternaria toxins in cereal, tomato juice and sunflower seed samples by liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry

The European Union Reference Laboratory for Mycotoxins organises a method validation study on the determination of five Alternaria toxins in cereal, tomato juice and sunflower seed samples.

The objective of this study is to evaluate the method performance characteristics of a candidate method for standardisation.

Design of the study:
Ten samples per matrix shall be analysed with liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry. Both naturally contaminated and spiked samples are involved in the validation.

The participants will be notified about the dispatch at least two weeks in advance and on the day of dispatch. Method description will be made available to the MVS participants.

All calibrants needed for the study will be provided by organisers.

After the dispatch the participants have 8 weeks to report back the results.

The MVS is open to all interested laboratories, e.g. NRLs, official food control laboratories, private food control laboratories, academia, and laboratories from industry.
