Investigation of the use of inorganic polymers in nuclear applications: waste immobilisation and shielding –part 1 GAMMA

Inorganic polymers, produced on the bases of several types of industrial residues, are under research at the University of Hasselt for use as construction material and as matrix for storing several types of nuclear waste. This is important for sustainability by reducing waste and moderating the use of natural resources. The IP4RAW_1 project involves the measurement of trace concentrations of mainly natural radionuclides for immobilisation (leaching) studies involving gamma spectroscopy measurements.
