With the EU's ambitious climate goals and the need to increase building renovation rates, RoBUILT seeks to develop cutting-edge solutions that reduce construction time, errors, costs, and waste while boosting resource and energy efficiency and maintaining structural integrity. By leveraging robotics and automation, RoBUILT can enhance productivity and speed, promote sustainability, material efficiency, and waste reduction, ultimately contributing to a more climate-neutral and resilient built environment. Moreover, this approach also fosters a safer workplace by removing human workers from hazardous environments.
The robotic solution proposed by RoBUILT includes a mobile platform with an integrated robotic arm capable of performing tasks such as structural reinforcement, localized repairs, and thermal insulation on building façades. Through experimental validation at the European Laboratory for Structural Assessment (ELSA), RoBUILT's robotic solution will be tested for effectiveness, paving the way for its adoption in the construction industry. By fostering innovation in this field, RoBUILT addresses the sector's challenges, including labour shortages and sustainability concerns, while positioning Europe as a leader in the Construction 4.0 transformation.
