Magdalena Zachlod-Jelec is an economist within the Fiscal Policy Analysis team at Joint Research Centre, Seville since October 2016. Her main research focus involves investigating specific fiscal policy questions, taking especially into account equity aspect. Her particular focus is the development of an overlapping generations (OLG) model for use in policy analysis.

Before joining the JRC, Magdalena Zachlod-Jelec has been working for eleven years for the Polish Ministry of Finance, initially as a macroeconometric modeller and later as a general equilibrium modeller with energy and climate policy applications. For several years she has been involved in the World Bank project "Modelling climate and energy policy in Poland" with the aim of building in-house climate and energy policy modelling tool within the Polish government.

Magdalena holds a Ph.D. from the Warsaw School of Economics (2012) and an M.A. from the Cracow University of Economics (2005).

Her main research interests are consumer theory and policy-oriented macroeconomic modelling.
