Biography

Luca is an econometrician at the European Commission's DG Joint Research Centre (JRC) at the Competence Centre on Microeconomic Evaluation (CC-ME). He joined the JRC in 2018, after having worked in the JRC's Centre for Advanced Studies and in the Nowcasting group.

Luca earned his PhD from KU Leuven. He also holds a research master's degree in Econometrics from the Université catholique de Louvain, and a bachelor's degree in Economics from Bocconi University.

His main research interests include time series econometrics, forecasting and nowcasting, big data, and text mining. Luca's work has been published in various journals such as Energy Economics, Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, Journal of Applied Econometrics, and the Journal of Financial Econometrics.
