Biography
Luca is a scientific project officer in the Nowcasting team of the JRC Economy and Finance unit. Before that, he was a member of the Big Data and Economic Forecasting team in the JRC Centre for Advanced Studies.
Luca obtained his PhD in Applied Economics at the KU Leuven. He holds a research master in Econometrics from the Université catholique de Louvain, and a bachelor in Economics from Bocconi University. Before joining the JRC, he worked as a data science consultant.
His main interests are time series econometrics, commodity markets, big data, machine learning and sentiment analysis. Luca's works has been published in Energy Economics, Journal of the Royal Statistical Society, Journal of Financial Econometrics, among others.
