The new TRIMIS website, the European Commission's one-stop-shop for transport research and innovation, has been designed from scratch to provide direct and user-friendly access to information by means of an advanced search hub that enables detailed filtering of data.
TRIMIS contains a vast database of EU and national transport projects and programmes. It also provides sections with transport related news, events, documents and highlights.
The website offers policy makers, scientists and citizens the opportunity to explore in detail transport research across nations, transport modes and European policies. In addition, it contains an intuitive and interactive dashboard providing a comprehensive overview on funding and organisations involved in transport research and innovation as well as data on the innovation capacity of the transport sector.
TRIMIS monitors the implementation and effectiveness of agreed roadmaps, e.g. those of the Strategic Transport Research and Innovation Agenda (STRIA). TRIMIS analyses technology trends, research and innovation capacities and developments in the European transport sector, providing open-access information in support of the European Green Deal and the Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy. It covers more than 9 000 transport projects and programmes, making available data from the last 20 years, with a full coverage of the latest European Framework Programmes.

Thanks to the intuitive dashboard, they can keep an eye on the geographical distribution of funding, the collaboration between EU Member States on R&I and the overlapping between STRIA roadmap research, towards the aim of optimising future research efforts and funding allocation, and to avoid research duplication.

Background
The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre (JRC) is in charge of the development of the Transport Research and Innovation Monitoring and Information System (TRIMIS), under the supervision of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) and Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) which are co-leading the Strategic Transport Research and Innovation Agenda (STRIA).
