The water-energy-food-ecosystems (WEFE) nexus represents an emerging, integrated approach to resource management that aims to tackle rising demands while ensuring sustainability of ecosystems.
On June 16th, 2021 at 15:10, the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre organises a workshop on “WEFE Nexus, Digitalisation and Human Capital for a Green-Deal in transboundary waters" during the European Development Days. Participating speakers will look into the challenges and opportunities in operationalising the WEFE Nexus framework in transboundary river basins, addressing its implications for science and policy making, the development of digitalisation, and the need for adaptive human capacity building.
The workshop can be followed online following a registration.
Participant organisations to the workshop are
- Scientific Information Center of Interstate Commission for Water Coordination (SIC ICWC) - Dr Dinara Ziganshina, Deputy Director;
- Organizacion del Tratado de la Cuenca Amazonica (OTCA) - Dr María Alexandra MOREIRA LOPEZ, Secretary General;
