Today, an update of the JRC MARS Bulletin - Crop monitoring in Europe - was published, focusing on the recent weakening of pasture conditions in large parts of northern central and western Europe.

In the July issue of the JRC MARS Bulletin (Vol 27 No. 7) pasture conditions in most of Europe were reported as around average, with above-average productivity considering the period from 1 May to 10 July. The analysis suggested limited impact of the June heatwave(s) but emerging effects of persistent rain deficits in parts of France, northern Germany and Poland.

More recent data (up to 20 July), reveal an expansion and intensification of the areas negatively affected, and rapidly deteriorating pasture conditions in large parts of northern central and western Europe.
