At the JRC we collect and describe Best Practices in environmental management. Our goal is to provide inspiration and practical guidance to organisations aiming to improve the environmental sustainability of their business.

Cater to your needs

We want our work to be as useful as possible, and to achieve this we are reviewing our approach and format. We want to develop it closer with organisations such as yours. For this, we would like to count with your feedback to understand better your needs and ensure this work is the most helpful for your business.

Get involved

We will be conducting short interviews with companies and organisations aiming to green their business. If you are willing to contribute to developing a new solution to help organisations in your sector be greener, JRC-EMAS-SRDatec [dot] europa [dot] eu (subject: Calling%20out%20companies%20to%20help%20develop%20Best%20Environmental%20Management%20practices) (email us)!

What we would like to know…

What does your organisation need to become more environmentally friendly?
What have been the main barriers to greening your organisation?
How would you like to find the information that would help you save resources?

Sectors involved

We recently launched the Best Environmental Management Practices (BEMPs) for the Tourism sector, and prepared a user-friendly website, Take a green step, to disseminate them. In the last seven years, we have completed BEMPs for many sectors, such as food and beverage manufacturing, public administration, or waste management among others. You can find the reports for all of the sectors on the JRC website.

For more information

BEMPs help your organisation to improve its environmental performance and are a key element of the EMAS framework. Don't have an Environmental Management System yet? Discover EMAS (the EU Eco-management and Audit Scheme) on www.EMAS.eu
