Biography

Prof. Dr. José M. Rueda-Cantuche is Scientific Officer of the European Commission at the Joint Research Centre. He also holds (on leave) a position of Full Professor of Quantitative Methods applied to Economics at the Pablo de Olavide University (Seville, Spain).

His research interests are focused on Input-Output Accounts, Input-Output Analysis and Input-Output Modelling. He has been member of the Editorial Boards of the UN Handbook on Supply, Use and Input-Output Tables with Extensions and Applications, the UN Guidelines on Accounting for Global Value Chains and co-editor of the forthcoming OECD-JRC Handbook on Extended Supply and Use Tables.

He is also a Member of the OECD Expert Group on Extended Supply and Use Tables and co-chair of the OECD Group of Regional-Global TiVA initiatives. He has currently published more than 60 articles in international scientific journals (of which more than 35 with JCR impact factor) and around 55 monographs, European Commission reports and book chapters.

He actively collaborated in the International Input-Output Association - IIOA (2007-2015; 2020-) launching the IIOA Newsletter and the IIOA International School of Input-Output Analysis (2010-2015; 2019-2022); and was Vice-President (2009-2012) and President (2013-2016) of the Hispanic-American Input-Output Society.

He is team leader of the Input-Output Economics team (Innovation policies and Economic Impact) in the JRC. He supervises the production of the European Inter-country supply, Use and Input-Output Tables (FIGARO) in collaboration with Eurostat, the Trade-SCAN model to monitor the value added and employment content of EU exports and EU final demand and the FIDELIO model, a full inter-country dynamic econometric long-term input-output model.
