Ilias Kostarakos

Biography

Ilias Kostarakos joined the European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) in 2021. He holds a MPhil and a PhD in Economics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.

He is an applied macroeconomist and his research interests include Applied Macroeconomics with a focus on Fiscal Policy and the evolution of the labour share, Growth Empirics with an emphasis on the role of intangible capital, and Financial Development.

Prior to joining the JRC, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Economic Analysis division of the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) in Ireland and as a Policy Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister of Greece.

His current work within the TEDAM team includes applied economics applications related to the REMO pillar.
