The role of biomass in our future

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) and the Directorate-General for Research and Innovation are organising this panel discussion - a satellite event of the 2025 European Research and Innovation Days.

This year is the 10th anniversary of the Biomass Mandate, a research and monitoring task given to the JRC by European Commission services to deliver scientifically-robust assessments of biomass supply, demand and uses at both EU and global level.

To mark this important milestone, we will present the 10th-anniversary edition of the Biomass report, a rigorous piece of research that encompasses the state and uses of biomass at European level, and calls for concrete policy actions to stave off the depletion of our invaluable natural resources.
