Description

The webinar: Reimagining Capitalism in a World on Fire
Our world is on fire – both literally and metaphorically – as climate change heats up the planet, war shakes Europe, Africa and Asia, and inequality and political unrest challenge the roots of democracy. Can the private sector play a significant role in addressing these kinds of global challenges – which are, after all, public goods problems?
In this talk Professor Henderson will argue that the answer is YES – that solving these problems is squarely in the private sector’s interest, that in many cases there is a sound economic case for addressing them, and that many firms are even now making significant progress – particularly against the problem of climate change. She will suggest that such action has the potential to accelerate the kinds of massive political, social and cultural movements that are the only long term solution to these problems.
Presented by Rebecca Henderson, John and Natty McArthur University Professor at Harvard Business School.
