The 2025 edition of the European Regional Science Association (ERSA) Congress will focus on the theme 'Regional science in turbulent times. In search of a resilient, sustainable and inclusive future'.
Six special sessions organised by the Joint Research Centre provide an opportunity to gain insights into ongoing challenges and policy proposals towards a more resilient and inclusive future for people and places across the globe, through the lenses of territorial development and innovation:
- S02: Localising Sustainable Development Goals: actions, assessments, and interlinkages at the regional level
- S47: All eyes on border regions: enhancing cross-border cooperation through data-driven policy support
- S57: Cohesion policy and industrial policy: competition or complementarity?
- S58: Measuring the social impact of tourism in the European Union
- S61: Innovation, entrepreneurship and industrial dynamics in rural areas
- S80: Challenges and opportunities for EU growth and convergence: climate change, digitalisation, and knowledge diffusion
The call for abstracts is open until 25 February.
With approximately 800 participants from all continents every year, the European Regional Science Association (ERSA) Congress has become the largest academic conference in regional science worldwide.
