Why integrating foresight in disaster risk assessments?
Climate change, natural hazards, geopolitical conflict, and industrial and economic pressures are increasingly interconnected, pushing systems toward tipping points where small changes can trigger rapid, irreversible shifts. Traditional risk assessment, built on assumptions of gradual change, struggles to keep pace. This year's training addresses that gap by focusing on integrating foresight into risk assessment, helping participants explore plausible futures and identify tipping points to strengthen preparedness and resilience.
