Global Summit on Regulatory Science 2019 Nanotechnology and Nanoplastics

The European Commission's Joint Research Centre (JRC) will co-organise with the Global Coalition for Regulatory Science Research (GCRSR) the Global Summit on Regulatory Science 2019 (GSRS19), 24-26 September 2019.

The GSRS19 will bring together scientists from government, industry, and academic-research communities from around the world for addressing regulatory-research questions concerning Nanotechnology and Nanoplastics.

The focus will be on topics in Nanotechnology related to advances in standards, medical products/drugs, medical devices, food, cosmetic (personal care) products and the emerging pollutant nanoplastics.

The conference provides a platform where regulators, policy makers, and bench scientists can exchange views on innovative methodologies and regulatory assessments, as well as harmonising strategy via global collaboration.

24 September 2019 – JRC, Ispra (VA, Italy)

25 -26 September 2019 – Stresa (VB, Italy)

The main GSRS conference is on 25 and 26 September and is open to scientists from government, industry, and academic-research communities.

It will be held at the Hotel La Palma, Corso Umberto I 33, 28838 Stresa (VB, Italy).

27 September 2019 – JRC, Ispra (VA, Italy)

Optional satellite meetings, possiblity of training, and lab tours will be held at the JRC in Ispra (VA, Italy):

• Possibility of visit to the JRC, i.e. the Nanobiotechnology Laboratory and some European Union Reference Laboratories (open to everybody upon registration)
• Short course on the 'Use of Reference Materials and the estimation of measurement uncertainty' (30 places, open to everybody upon registration)

Pre-registration is closed (deadline was 15 August 2019). Accepted pre-registrants have been notified.

Registration and Costs

No conference fee will be charged. However participants will need to cover the costs of their travel and accommodation.

Ispra and Stresa: due to its proximity, arrival by air to Milan Malpensa Airport is recommended.
