EURL-FCM - Test methods

Food contact material migration methods

Internationally recognised methods, such as CEN and ISO, should be obtained from the appropriate national standardisation bodies.

Overall migration

Currently there are no valid CEN standards available for testing overall migration from plastic food contact materials and that refer to the plastic Regulation (EU) No 10/2011.

Specific migration

The JRC collects methods from petitioners via EFSA. The collection has reached about 320 methods. Upon request JRC can make the summary descriptions available for research purposes under the scope of the EURL. The standard operating protocols developed in the context of inter-laboratory comparison exercises or method validation can also be made available.
