Isabelle Wéry is a Belgian, French-speaking author, actress and theatre director.

 

Isabelle Wéry is a Belgian, French-speaking author, actress and theatre director. Her books have an experimental style and often include strong female characters.

In 2013 she won the European Union Prize for Literature for her novel “Marilyn Deboned”, which has been translated into many European languages.

She also received the Belgian Press Prize in 2017.

Isabelle travels a lot and uses these experiences in her books. She gives writing masterclasses all around the world and also works as an actress; among other things she has played “The Vagina Monologues" by Eve Ensler.

Her more recent work focuses on directing and performances that mix literature and theatre.
