Emilia Petrikova is a Medical Doctor at the Klinik Adelheid, Switzerland.


Emilia Petrikova is a medical doctor with experience in research, policy-making and mentoring. As a curious mind, she transformed her passion for biology fuelled by reading to active research at the age of 14.

She built her own laboratory since she was not allowed to work at the university. Two years later, she followed her path at the Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic, where she studied molecular pathways of the malignant melanoma’s therapy.

Since then, she has taken part in oncology research at various leading institutions, including Mayo Clinic and University of Heidelberg.

Dr Petrikova won several awards for her work, e.g. Special Prize at European Union Contest for Young Scientist and was listed in Forbes’ list of 30 under 30 in Slovakia.

She played an important role in preparation of the Bratislava Declaration of Young Researchers, an initiative where young researchers share their ideas on improvement of research conditions with the European Commission and EU Member States.

Dr Petrikova has recently started her medical career at the Clinic Adelheid in Switzerland. Her goal is to help in the fight against cancer by bridging the research, medicine and policy-making, as she sees significant importance of interdisciplinary work in the nowadays world.
