Enrique Fernández-Macías

Biography

Enrique Fernández-Macías is currently coordinating the Employment and Skills team of the Joint Research Centre, developing a research programme on the socio-economic implications of automation, digitisation and platformisation of work.

He has a PhD in Economic Sociology from the University of Salamanca, where he worked several years as a researcher and lecturer. Previously, he also worked as a researcher in Eurofound (Dublin), participating and coordinating large European research projects, such as the European Working Conditions Survey or the European Jobs Monitor.

He has published many policy-oriented and academic papers on job quality, occupational structures, technical change and socio-economic inequalities.
