Biography
David Klenert works as an Economic Analyst at the Fiscal Policy Analysis team of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission. Previous to this, he was part of the Applied Environmental Economics group in the Circular Economy and Sustainable Industry team. His research interests include environmental and public economics, in particular regarding questions of (optimal) taxation, inequality and climate policy.
Before joining the European Commission, he worked as a researcher at the Mercator Research Institute on Global Commons and Climate Change in Berlin and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Technical University Berlin and an MSc in Physics from the ETH Zurich.
