Biography

David García-León's work contributes to studying and assessing the economic effects of climate change globally and at the EU level. His research encompasses cross-sectoral impacts and the effectiveness of alternative adaptation policies.

His primary research interests lie in understanding the socio-economic effects of the environment on human activities, with a particular focus on low-probability, high-impact climate events.

Previously, he served as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and the Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change, where he implemented his project WATER DROP, which focused on the economic assessment of droughts. He obtained a PhD in Quantitative Economics from the University of Alicante (Spain) and prior to that, worked at the Research Department of the Bank of Spain. He also holds a Master's Degree in Economics and Finance from CEMFI.
