Biography

Andrzej Stasio works as an Economic Analyst in the Fiscal Policy Analysis team at JRC – Seville. He currently focuses on developing and applying corporate tax microsimulations, including cross-border taxes.

Before joining the JRC in February 2020, Andrzej worked as a researcher at the WU Vienna University of Economics and Business, while pursuing his PhD degree in economics from the Doctoral Program in International Business Taxation. His research dealt with tax treaty dynamics; bilateral tax competition; and third-country effects in foreign direct investment.

Andrzej holds Master’s degrees in Fiscal Economics (MSc) and International & European Tax Law (LL.M.) from Maastricht University. During his PhD, he has been visiting researcher at the University of Bern World Trade Institute and the University of Michigan Office of Tax Policy Research.

His main research interests concentrate on topics in international business taxation, with a strong emphasis on the interaction between institutional rules and economic outcomes.
