Andrea Valsesia

Born in 1977, Andrea holds a PhD in physics on Nanofabrication of surfaces for biological application obtained at the University of Pavia (Italy). He has more than 10 years of proven experience in the field of nano-micro fabrication, thin films deposition, surface analysis, optics, and integration of devices, development and commercialization of high-tech laboratory equipment. He is author and co-author of more than 80 papers on peer-reviewed international journals. In 2008-2009, he was working on a Technology transfer project at the JRC (Nanobiosciences Unit) for the development of nanoplasmonics surfaces for high-multiplexing biosensing devices. After 5 years of experience in the R&D in the private sector, he joined the JRC as scientific officer.

Nanotechnology, Surface modification by Plasma technology, Nanofabrication (colloidal lithography, ion-beam lithography, e-beam lithography), Scanning Electron Microscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy, Optical biosensors and optical characterization techniques.
