Biography
Alessandro has been working at the European Crisis Management Laboratory since 2013 as a software engineer, solution architect, full stack developer and programmer analyst. Since 2016 he has been responsible for the entire development cycle of the European Coordination and Response Centre portal, from requirements collection, use case analysis, design, therefore development, testing and deploying.
He also designed and developed the new Science4Peace portal. He has contributed and contributes to the development of other projects related to early warning systems and global situation awareness with various partners such as DG Home, Frontex, EEAS or WHO. He is currently investigating and experimenting with the use of the latest technologies (AI, LLM...) for data mining activities on the huge ERCC Portal repository.

Professional achievements
Alessandro has over 25 years of experience in the software development field. He has experience of all phases of the development cycle, has worked in teams of various sizes and has contributed to the implementation of large projects in different sectors, using various methodologies, from agile to RUP. Among the noteworthy projects in which he participated before arriving at the JRC: Trenord railway fleet localization system; the "Conto Corrente Arancio" for ING Direct; the integration of Autogrill information systems; the management of electronic meters for Endesa; the integration of information systems in the healthcare field from the general practitioner to the ministry of health.
